A man killed in a middle-of-the-night hit and run in east London has been named by police for the first time.
Emergency services were called to Cable Street and Cannon Street Road in Whitechapel at 12.33am on Saturday, July 6 to a crash between a car and a cyclist.
36-year-old Matheus Piovesan, who was a Brazilian national, died at the scene.
His next of kin have been informed.
The car that hit Matheus did not stop at the scene.
Three men, aged 45, 24 and 23 were arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and failing to stop at the scene of a collision.
They were subsequently released on bail pending further enquiries.
Two women and a man were arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and failing to stop at the scene of a collision.
They were later released with no further action.
