Explosions have been heard in the vicinity of Greenwich’s O2 arena after a pre-planned blaze for a film set in Docklands Yard “spread out of control”.
Firefighters were called to an open-air yard in Dock Road, Silvertown at 7.51pm yesterday (Saturday, August 31).
The blaze destroyed a van and damaged a car and a lorry, LFB added.

A total of 25 firefighters tackled the blaze and it was under control by 9.02pm.
No injuries were reported.
Videos of the fire show huge plumes of smoke billowing gup towards the IFS Cloud Cable Cars which appear to still have been operating at the time.
An explosion can be seen and heard in the video, during which time the fire itself triples in size for a moment and then continues to burn.
Another video shows the damage from across the river Thames and blue light vehicles can be seen rushing to the scene.
Newham MPS tweeted: “We are aware of reports of explosions being heard in the vicinity of the #O2 in #Greenwich.
