Three men have been arrested as part of a crackdown on serial bag snatchers in the capital, the latest incident near a famous east London market.
City of London Police arrested three suspected bag thieves, aged between 32 and 35, in connection with 16 thefts from London pubs, it was announced today (August 15).
The most recent theft was committed in a pub near Spitalfields Market, Tower Hamlets, yesterday (August 16).

Fifteen of the offences occurred The City, central London.
Chief Superintendent Bill Duffy said: "Opportunistic crimes, such as bag and phone thefts, will have a significant impact on the people who had their possessions stolen.
"We are determined to bring those committing crimes in the City to justice and we will use all of our resources to help prevent and deter any further criminal activities," he added.
