The Royal London Hospital will be on television once again as trauma teams deal with the most seriously injured patients.
Channel 4’s Emergency documentary series is making a return, showing the minute-by-minute decisions NHS staff made to treat patients.
Broadcasted over four episodes, the hospital was filmed 24/7 across two of the busiest weeks in summer 2022.
Made up of four major trauma centres across London - at The Royal London, King’s College, St George’s and St Mary’s hospitals - trauma units, ambulance and air ambulance services, the system works together to provide highly specialised care to critically injured patients.
One story includes the touching story of Lance Corporal Lee, 38, who is a dedicated paratrooper in the army.
He ended up in a speed-flying accident while on holiday in France and was left with a torn artery, punctured lungs, multiple broken ribs, fractures to both legs and a pelvic spinal injury.
After initial life-saving treatment in France, he was flown over to the Royal London for further help.
The show will air form Monday (August 12) at 9pm for four consecutive nights.
