A dead body was found in the River Thames.
The Metropolitan Police were called to the Thames near to West India Dock this morning (August 4) at 8am.
A body was pulled out of the water and the person was declared dead, the force said.
Enquiries are still under way to confirm the identity and inform the next of kin.
The East London Advertiser asked the Met whether this death was being treated as suspicious, but the paper has had no response.
A spokesperson instead said: “A report will be prepared for the coroner.”
