A man who was stabbed near a cemetery in Mile End is said to have suffered life changing injuries.
The Metropolitan Police has issued an update after a man was stabbed in British Street at around 12.58am on Monday (July 29).
Officers were called to the scene with paramedics from the London Ambulance Service to reports of a person injured.
A man was found with injuries consistent with being stabbed and was taken to a major trauma centre.
A crime scene remains in place while enquiries into the circumstances continue.
British Street backs onto one of the entrances to Tower Hamlets Cemetery Park.

A spokesperson for the cemetery told this paper "The cemetery park hasn’t been closed."
Anyone with information is asked to call the Met on 101, or contact them @MetCC on 'X', quoting CAD341/29JUL.
