A balcony has been "completely destroyed" by a fire which tore through a flat in Whitechapel.
The London Fire Brigade (LFB) sent six fire engines and about 40 firefighters to a blaze in a block of flats on Cartwright Street in east London today (July 15).
"A balcony attached to a three-roomed flat on the third floor was completely destroyed by fire," a LFB spokesperson said.
The LFB took about an hour and 15 minutes to extinguish the blaze having arrived at 2.55am.

It was over for firefighters at 4.10am after the blaze also damaged a small part of the flat.
Crews from Whitechapel, Shadwell, Dowgate, Dockhead, Shoreditch and Bethnal Green fire stations attended.
"The cause of the fire is undetermined," the LFB added.
