Police have issued an update after a "distressing" bus crash in which a man was trapped underneath the vehicle.
The Metropolitan Police confirmed today (June 19) that a man who was involved in a crash with a bus in Mile End remains in a life-threatening condition in hospital.
Police had been called to St Paul's Way at about 12.06am on Sunday (June 16) and found a pedestrian in his 20s badly injured.
He had reportedly been trapped underneath a single-decker bus.
Tom Cunnington, Transport for London’s head of buses business development, said: “Our thoughts are with the person who was seriously injured after a bus collision in Tower Hamlets on Sunday.
