A man who was in life-threatening condition after a fall from a height has made an improvement.

Police were called to Hanover House in Tower Hamlets just after 1.30pm to reports of a fear for welfare on May 1, and shortly before 5pm that day a man fell from a height.

His condition was assessed as life-threatening soon after, but police have today (May 5) issued an update.

"His condition has now been assessed as not life-threatening," a spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police stated.

Officers had attended on May 1 with paramedics from the London Ambulance Service.

The man was treated by paramedics at the scene before being rushed to hospital.

Hanover House in Westferry Circus is a block of flats near the River Thames, Google Maps shows.

The incident was first reported by the AA, which revealed the area had been cordoned off to allow emergency services to work at the scene.

It has since cleared on the AA and the man's condition has improved.
