A flat block in Poplar was locked down by police after a man wielding a knife started making threats.
Officers from the Metropolitan Police were dispatched to Accra Close, off Blair Street, at 10.21am this morning (April 23) after receiving reports of a man making threats whilst armed with a knife.
A block of flats was temporarily locked down by police whilst they attempted to engage with the man.
The Met were also supported by the Territorial Support Group (TSG) team, who are specially trained to respond to terrorism.
TSG resorted to forcing entry after the man refused to exit the building voluntarily.
