A man is facing an attempted murder charge following a Stepney Green stabbing which left another man fighting for his life.
Arosh Ali, 24, of White Tower Way, Stepney Green, was charged with attempted murder this morning (March 15) and is due to appear at Thames Magistrates' Court later this afternoon.
The charge follows a stabbing in Duckett Street outside the Stepney Shahjalal Mosque & Cultural Centre on March 8.
A 19-year-old male was found with critical injuries and continues to fight for his life a week on.
The mosque was forced to close in the wake of the incident and the road was closed temporarily.

Police are supporting the man's family and have confirmed they do not believe the stabbing to be a hate crime or that the victim was targeted due to race or religion.
Officers have increased their patrols to provide reassurance to the community.
Police still believe there are further witnesses to the incident who have not come forward.
