A man is continuing to fight for his life in hospital after a stabbing near a mosque.
The man, 19, was rushed to hospital yesterday (March 8) with critical injuries after he was stabbed at Duckett Street in Stepney Green, near the Stepney Shahjalal Mosque & Cultural Centre.
According to the Metropolitan Police, he remains there at this time today (March 9), still with critical injuries.
No arrests have been made at this time.
Ambulance crews rushed to the scene at around 1.46pm and treated the man before he was taken to a major trauma centre.
The incident forced the temporary closure of nearby mosque The Stepney Shahjalal Mosque & Cultural Centre.
Police are carrying out enquiries and have asked anyone with information to call 101 or contact them on 'X' @MetCC quoting CAD 3741/8Mar.
Alternatively, information can be provided anonymously via the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
