Unity Diner
Located at 60 Wentworth Street, E1 7AL, Unity Diner won a Tripadvisor Travellers' Choice award for 2023 and has been rated 'Excellent' in 173 of 251 reviews.
Non-vegans eat free at Unity Diner for Veganuary.
The non-profit cocktail bar and restaurant looks to challenge the stereotypical perceptions around vegan food.
One reviewer said: "Great ethos, great service, great cocktails, great food! An 'easy diner' vibe full of friendly energetic staff, a menu full of yummy food options."
Dauns
This vegan Scandi-inspired café and deli bar can be found at 77 Wentworth Street, E1 7TD.
They have 34 reviews on Tripadvisor, with all rating them 'Excellent'.
Its menu features Scandinavian classics with a vegan twist, like their Swedish meatballs, mash and gravy.
One customer said: "I came across Dauns quite soon after it opened, by accident originally, when Unity opposite was closed and have been popping in regularly ever since.
"The area north of Aldgate East houses several great vegan eateries and Dauns is a personal favourite - Nordic delights executed perfectly.
"Friendly service and food prepared with love - recipe for a perfect meal!"
The Hogless Roast
This Hackney Wick based restaurant can be found at Colour Factory, Queens Yard, E9 5EN.
All reviews rate it 'Excellent'! They have an additional 111 Google Reviews that rate it a 4.6 out of 5 stars.
The restaurant was crowned winner of the Best Vegan Menu in Britain 2022 at The British Takeaway Awards.
One diner said: "Wow. Five of us with different diets and different tastes all thoroughly enjoyed our Hogless Roast takeaway and can't wait until we are in the area again as we'll definitely be ordering it again.
"SOOooooo delicious. Superb vegan food."
Tofu Vegan
Tofu Vegan is a chain restaurant in London, with locations in Spitalfields, Islington and Golders Green.
The Spitalfields location has just 3 reviews on TripAdvisor, but an additional 278 Google Reviews that have rated it a 4.8 out of a possible 5 stars.
Their menu offers visitors vegan takes on classic Asian dishes, including vegan Xiao Long Bao and Wontons.
The Spitalfields branch is located at 54 Commercial Street, E1 6LT.
One reviewer said: "In a comfortably relaxed environment, an amazing variety of fresh, tasty, and attractively presented vegan Chinese food.
"Not only is service swift and cheerful, but the staff take time to explore the menu, and to explain potential blends of texture, colour and flavour."
Mallow
Located at Canary Wharf, Mallow is a plant-based restaurant led by the Mildreds team - another vegan restaurant chain in London.
They have 19 'Excellent' Reviews on TripAdvisor and have been rated 4.7 stars out of 5 from 299 Google Reviews.
One diner said: "Phenomenal lunch menu. Went with two friends and ordered the January course set meal which was a bargain, and added in several other dishes to share between us.
"Beautiful place, great vibes and great food. I can’t really say any more other than recommend everyone to try this place out."
