A woman is still fighting for her life in hospital after an alleged hit and run crash.
Police were called to the scene of a crash on Thursday (November 23) involving a car and a pedestrian in Mile End.
A woman aged in her 30s was found injured at the junction of Burdett Road and Portia Way.
The driver of the vehicle allegedly failed to stop at the scene. Police said the driver, a man, later handed himself in to a police station and was arrested.
A police spokesperson confirmed today (November 25) that the woman remains in a life-threatening condition in hospital. They added that her next of kin are aware.
