A man has been arrested after he reportedly tried to sell firearms to members of the public.
Police were called to a commercial property in Bow Road at around 8.45pm on Wednesday evening (July 26).
Officers had received reports claiming that a man had been trying to sell apparent firearms to members of the public.
Armed police subsequently arrested a 43-year-old man on suspicion of possession of a firearm.
The man remains in police custody and officers have seized three firearms and ammunition following a search.
No injuries were reported following the incident on Wednesday evening.
Metropolitan Police Detective Inspector John Macleod said: “I would like to thank members of the public for contacting us and helping us to locate the suspect.
"Firearms have no place in London and this seizure has inevitably prevented further violence.
“We will continue to robustly target both those who carry firearms and those who attempt to supply them on our streets.”
