Around 60 people were forced to flee a block of flats in the early morning after a fire broke out.
A fire spread across the third floor of a seven-storey building in Tredegar Road, Bow this morning (April 21).
An eyewitness said there were at least seven fire engines and “loads of police” in the area after the blaze was reported at 4.54am.
Residents inside the block managed to escape before firefighters arrived and there were no reports of any injuries, London Fire Brigade has said.
However, part of the third floor was damaged.
Crews were called out from Bethnal Green, Homerton and surrounding fire stations.
The fire under control in less than an hour by 5.25am.
