A woman has been taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries after being struck by a car in the early hours of this morning.
The police and London Ambulance Service were called to the scene near Bow Church DLR station, in Bow Road, at 4.38am on March 9 after reports of the incident.
The woman, in her 20s, was taken to hospital, with a police spokesperson describing her injuries as “life-threatening”.
The male driver of the vehicle involved was arrested at the scene on suspicion of driving offences, before being taken to an east London police station. Enquiries are ongoing.
Bow Church station was shut following the incident, with the AA showing delays on the A11 Bow Road both ways between Tomlin’s Grove and Kitcat Terrace, and congestion backing up past Old Ford Road.
