JOSEPH PICTON of Collier Row, Romford formerly of Canning Town Died on Sunday 4th July aged 77 in Queens Hospital. Joe was born in Canning Town on 7th July 1932, to Joseph and Lilly Picton. He started work in Tate & Lyle, and went on to work as a Steel Erector with his brother in laws John and Joe Conley. He then went on to become a lorry driver and finally worked for the Financial Times whilst also working the weekends in his sweetshop in Fife Road, Canning Town. Joe was a person that liked to keep himself busy and once retired he enjoyed working with his son Allan. Joe is survived by his wife Elizabeth, his son Allan and wife Maria and their two children Jonathan and Elle, and daughter Gina and husband Paul and their two children Nathan and Hannah. Joe was one in a million and will be sadly missed by all his family and many friends. The service is to be held at The City of London Crematorium at 4pm on Wednesday 14th July 2010.
