Hannah Matilda Betsy Lee of Bethnal Green, London, died October 22nd, 2009, in hospital surrounded by family and friends. She was born November 9th, 1927, in Bethnal Green, London, the daughter of late Elizabeth and John William Marshall. She was one of seven siblings and the third oldest. On December 25th, 1952, she married John Arthur Captain Lee. They met in 1947 and were happily married for 36yrs. She was a devoted wife and he was a devoted husband till she was widowed on July 5th,, 1989. She was devoted to her family at all stages of her lifetime. Hannah and John had only one child in October 22nd, 1957 who they loved dearly, and they named their beautiful baby girl, Patricia Ann Lee. Patricia went on to have four girls. Charmaine Elizabeth Victoria Humphrey, Charmain Michelle Humphrey, Elizabeth Ann-Marie Humphrey, Victoria Hannah Humphrey. If memories bring us closer, We are never far apart, You are always beside us, And forever in our hearts. She was the best mum in the world. (Patricia) I miss you so much Nan, You inspired me to become the woman I am today, You instilled good attitudes and values in me, You gave me unconditional love, for which I will never forget, And you will forever be in my heart and memories. Love you Nan. (Charmain) Nan youre more like a friend to me and in my heart you shall always be Games like cards we used to play and in my mind they will always stay Winter Summer Spring and Fall Songs and laughter we had it all Dean Martin and the Rat Pack we listened to them sing And each of us did our own little thing Singing dancing and clapping along Thats Amoray was one of the songs Birthday, Christmas and Easter too We stay together me and you But now the days have come along Its time to sing a different song And though we cannot see speak or touch We have them memories im fond of so much Nan you are a friend to me And in my heart youll always be (Elizabeth) Loving you always, Forgetting you never. (Victoria) In loving memory of A dear wife, mother and grandmother. She lived for those she loved, And those she loved remember. The family gives a big thank you to everyone thats supported us through this trying time
