Joan Gamman (nee Martin) formerly of Coombe Road, Gravesend. 1926 - 2011 Our Maid of Kent who passed away peacefully, on 31st January, aged 84 years, in Water Royd Nursing Home, Barnsley, South Yorkshire. A rose once grew where all could see, sheltered beside a garden wall. And as the days passed swiftly by, it spread its branches, straight and tall... One day, a beam of light shone through a crevice that had opened widethe rose bent gently towards its warmth then passed beyond to the other side. Now, you who deeply feel its loss, Be comforted - the rose blooms there -its beauty even greater now, nurtured by Gods own loving care. We will miss you mum. Love Brenda, Hilary and Russell. Funeral was Tuesday 8th February in Ardsley, Barnsley.
