OLEFORO Laz

Ex- councillor Laz Oleforo 71, died on Sunday 2nd September 2012 following a brief illness. He was born in the village of Umuagu, south east Nigeria in 1941. He later travelled to England to study Architecture and Town Planning at Newcastle Upon Tyne University. Tirelessly involved in local and international politics, he became Hackney Councils first Ibo deputy major. His family paid this tribute to him, Chief Oleforo, our father was an intelligent and ambitious man. He believed in helping the community and he will be sorely missed. He is survived by his wife, 5 children and 5 grandchildren.
